The container terminal with transhipment port

By water, Flevokust Port connects Amsterdam, Rotterdam, the north of the Netherlands and Germany. After widening the Kornwerdesluis lock, it will also be suitable for short sea transport (e.g. to the Baltic Sea).

Flevokust Haven in brief

  • Multimodal container terminal and transhipment port with a port-related business park north of Lelystad.
  • A breakwater protects the harbour up to wind force 7.
  • The port is located at a logistics hub in the Netherlands.
  • Security: the harbour master and CCTV cameras are always keeping a watchful eye on things.
  • From 1 August 2026, the port area will be fully operational. It is no longer possible to set up a business on the port area at this time.

Safety and surveillance

Due to the growth in total freight transport, maintaining waterways and improving safety are important. That is why Flevokust Haven has clear rules and a safety plan in place. The site is equipped with CCTV. The Flevokust Haven Port Authority oversees safety within the port.
