'Ready for the future'
In October 2024, C2U acquired both the Utrecht Container Terminal and CTU Flevokust. This move has expanded the possibilities at Flevokust Port, offering many benefits to (current and future) users. “Our ambition is to broaden our range of services and strengthen our position in the logistics sector. The major benefit for our customers is that, thanks to our scale, we can negotiate better terms and thus manage expectations even more effectively. And yet we remain flexible and agile, just as you would expect from an inland terminal,” said Grant Pinkney, commercial manager at C2U Network.
About C2U Network
C2U is affiliated with TMA Logistics, operates several container terminals and is a logistics service provider in the broadest sense of the term. It is committed to optimising and managing logistics processes at the port – not only by water, but also by rail and, where necessary, by road.
What does C2U Network have to offer?
C2U focuses on inland waterway transport, particularly to and from Rotterdam and Antwerp. With a daily scheduled service and strong links with shipping companies, C2U ensures optimal connections and the most efficient mode of transport. Flevokust Haven offers reefer connections, facilities for gas testing and ample storage space for containers.
Storage and transhipment of goods
Containers and goods are stored on the site in Lelystad for both short-term and long-term periods. Thanks to its extensive facilities and capabilities, storage at C2U offers many advantages over storage at a seaport. C2U has, amongst other things, a terminal crane and a reach stacker to move containers around the storage and transhipment terminal. They also arrange the onward transport of containers by lorry for various clients. To this end, they have their own fleet of seven lorries, which are used to transport loads to the rest of the region.
Why Flevokust Haven?
“We focus primarily on the northern Netherlands. The location at Flevokust Haven is of great strategic importance. This is particularly true for those users who are still building their premises, such as JYSK and BESTSELLER. Their choice of Flevokust Haven is no coincidence; they also benefit from the port and the sustainable transport options. As C2U, we want to provide them and the other tenants with the best possible support,” says Grant Pinkney. “We already have a steady flow of cargo and, at the same time, are preparing for this to double in the coming years.”
Customisation and thinking together
The commercial manager says it always thinks in terms of solutions. "Our people always try to look at what is possible, so as not to have to sell no. A lot is possible. As a result, it regularly happens that a cargo can be arranged last minute after all. Or that a load is adjusted. Even when the customer's schedule does not suit us, we look at how we can get as close to it as possible."

Ambitions: strengthen, broaden and grow
In 2026, we will be expanding at Flevokust Haven, with an additional section of the quay. We want to grow and align with the ambitions of the province and the municipality. We want to support (new) users as effectively as possible so that they too can achieve their own objectives. In the areas of sustainability and efficiency, for example. Furthermore, since the takeover, we have invested in a mobile crane to load heavier and different types of goods more quickly. Such as sand and bulk goods. This means we can also supply building materials to the distribution centres of BESTSELLER and JYSK. An investment for the future!
