Nature, water sports and recreation excellent combination
Lelystad breathes nature! Think National Park Nieuw Land, with its Oostvaardersplassen, the Markermeer and Marker Wadden. The latter combines nature protection and tourism. Ideal for entrepreneurs who want to combine nature experience, water sports and sustainable recreation. To give some examples:
- A nature campsite: minimal ecological footprint and maximum fun. Campsite 't Oppertje in National Park Nieuwland is a fine example of a small-scale stay in nature.
- Camping Buytenplaets Suydersee: small-scale overnight accommodation in beautiful nature
- Steppin: experience the city sportily with a scooter or a cool kickbike. A relevant and green idea.
- The Experience Forest: a unique adventure. At 40-hectares in the Zuigerplasbos, this is the largest and most adventurous play forest in the Netherlands. A sustainable and up-to-date concept.

With, among other things, a new water park hotel and water park hotel, The Batavia Quarter is developing into a maritime experience. Subsidy for leisure products
Entrepreneurs who contribute to the amenity value of recreation and tourism in Flevoland can make use of the subsidy: 'Increase amenity value leisure products'. This scheme stimulates the development of new leisure products that let visitors experience the story of Flevoland. The subsidy is subject to rules and reimburses part of the costs. LEADER grant programme
In addition, the province will open the new LEADER Flevoland 2023-2027 grant period on 2 April 2024. This European grant programme supports residents, organisations, associations and entrepreneurs who set up projects that contribute to the development of landscape, liveability, economy and sustainability in Flevoland.
