Flevokust Haven development goes hand in hand with sustainability

| | |

The development of Flevokust Haven in Lelystad is firmly on track when it comes to sustainability. This is evident from the annual monitoring of the 2025 sustainability targets, presented on 6 March 2026. From the outset, the focus has been on a future-proof and sustainable business park, with the BREEAM ambition as an important guideline for the area development.

The sustainable objectives for Flevokust Haven are divided into five central themes: energy, waste and circular economy, food, mobility and the physical living environment. Several steps have already been taken: for example, we see that smart design choices mean that up to 35 per cent less asphalt is needed and concrete products are partly made up of recycled materials. Climate change is also well addressed; with an overall shade projection of 79.4 per cent to reduce heat stress.
