A look back at a year of development and construction
The past year has seen a lot of hard work, both literally and figuratively, at Flevokust Haven. Much has been built and is in preparation. Large buildings of JYSK and BESTSELLER, among others, are rising in the polder and bol has also started preparations for their new DC. In addition, hard work has been done on the site's infrastructure and nature was given due attention. In short: the business park has undergone considerable development in the past year. All this was only possible because of the intensive cooperation with all partners and users of the site. Together, we are building Flevokust Haven.
By 2026, the construction of the DCs is progressing steadily and the first major projects will be completed. For example, JYSK's new DC is expected to be completed this summer. Site completion of the public area continues. Temporary roads will disappear, sewers will be installed and paving and markings will be applied. All in a sustainable manner. What once started out as a fish farm is increasingly turning into a complete business park, where entrepreneurs have every opportunity to establish themselves and grow in Lelystad.
2025 in a nutshell

Start of construction of new BESTSELLER distribution centre: in two years, a sustainable building in which wood plays a leading role will rise. Completion is scheduled for 2027.

Start construction of third connection: to make Flevokust Port even more accessible, preparations for a third access road have started on the pipeline route close to the IJsselmeerdijk.

Start of completion phase JYSK distribution centre: after more than a year of construction, completion is in sight. Wall panels and roofing are installed, sprinkler systems installed and floors poured.

Exploring park management: park management at Flevokust Haven was explored with a group of users in 2025 and will be introduced in 2026. This will lay a solid foundation for a future-proof and sustainable business park.

New life for tree trunks: heavy root balls of felled trees, found when removing old fishpond embankments, are given a sustainable repurpose. After cleaning, they are processed into wood chips and eventually into compost. This avoids waste.

Final road construction: the business park is increasingly taking its final shape. Temporary construction roads are giving way to permanent infrastructure.
